Make sure they have enough food and water inside the coop during those days. Make sure that you check on them every day to make sure that they are doing well but don’t let them out.
The second step would be making an enclosed area like a chicken run before you let them go free-range. This way your chickens will get back into their coop at night without you having to search for them. This works well and will help your chickens get used to being outside during the day. But because they are in a small “run” (fenced-in area preventing them from straying far from the coop) they will naturally return to the coop when the sun starts to set.
